The Best Week EVER

So Monday I found out I got an A on my first grad school class.

Thursday I bought a BRAND NEW car!

Our family doesn’t buy new cars. We buy new to us cars. I went shopping and was set on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra.

My dad went to look at the cars, and the guy had him look at a 2012 Accent.

I could get a 2010 and pay it for 5 years for the same price as a 2012 for 6 years. Ok so that doesn’t seem like a great deal. Well the warranty was what sold me.

10 year powertrain with the 2012 – nothing with the 2010

5 year bumper to bummer with the 2012 – 28k miles with the 2010

5 year roadside assistance – AAA with the 2010

So that extra year of payments is worth it to have a basically hassle free car.

And it’s the body style I like.

So dad started wheeling and dealing on Tuesday. I couldn’t get to Frederick to look at the car until Wed night.

I get there Wed night and the ONLY car there was gone. Hello dagger to my heart.

So they search everywhere, but no other dealership would give them an Accent.

So we decided we would find one somewhere and go there. (Sorry Clyde)

So my dad found a car, called and made sure that it was there and off he went.

He was at the dealership at 1:30 and was making a deal on a white Accent. I didn’t reallly love the white, but I liked it enough.

As he was sitting there he called me and said a truck pulled up with a grey one on it, do I want that one instead? UM YES!

So they waited for me to get off work and head over, and after a few hours of stressful negotiations we made a deal!

They didn’t want to give me much for my car, but my dad busted out his smartphone and showed them that they were seriously low-balling me and we got another $300 out of them.

This got us in my price range and we had a deal.

While we were there for 4.5 hours, 2 people bought cars. This place sings to you when you buy a car! It was cute. But when it was my turn it was awkward and embarrassing, but I still made them do it!

I said goodbye to my little Alero and drove home with my sweet NEW CAR!!!

Ok pics time – and the most embarrassing video ever

Bye Alreo – I will miss you

But not your duct tape

WOOO new car!!

4 of those miles I put on when I took it for a test drive!!

Oh Hell YES I did!

So remember when school started and I was totally freaked out and I didn’t think I could handle it all?

Yea… well… lets discuss this.

Grades summer 11

Yup that’s right! I got an A!!! I am so excited!

Hello 4.0! Nice to see you there!

My group paper, while it was a nightmare from start to finish, the professor said it was the best paper in the class. I will take all the credit for that thanks… I basically re-wrote a lot of it because one of my members hardly cared to do her part.

But anyway, that is life.

Did I tell you I got an A? In a 6 credit class…. oh yea!!!!

What’s new?

Lets see

***Training is going so well! My runs are amazing! My pace is so much faster than before. It is amazing. I guess loosing the toddler I used to carry around when I ran helped.

I have been doing p90x pretty regularly. Tonight I tweaked my hamstring muscle when doing a move and decided to quit early to avoid injury. I iced it and just applied a big old glob of icy hot. Will be hitting up the foam roller in a little bit. P90X is great, but it isn’t my main focus, that is running.

So I signed up for the half in March. I also signed up for a 5k on Sept 10.  Marine Corp Marathon 2012 is hardcore on my radar. I have always said that 26.2 isn’t something I could/would do. But maybe I was wrong. We shall see come time to register.

omg insane right?

***In other news I went to a new church last Sunday. I love my church at home, but it isn’t going to help me make friends in the area. So I put on my big girl panties and went ALONE. HOLY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE BATMAN!!  I walked in and pretty much wanted to vomit… then I ran to the bathroom until it started.

I filled out a little paper, and a very nice lady called me on Tuesday. She invited me to the small group she leads. It is for women only. (READ: potential friends) So next week she is out of town, but the girls are getting together and hanging out. So I am going to go and meet them in a casual setting.

***Lets see – OH! Buying a car soon! Real soon actually. SCORE. I am praying that the right car is available soon. I really want a 2011 Hyundai Elantra, but I am not sure if it is in my price range yet. I am waiting on the bank to get back to me with loan info. I would like to do it alone, but I will probably have my dad co-sign and get better interest rates.

***I survived my first semester of Grad School! Open-mouthed smile I don’t have my final grade but when I do I will do a “ my thoughts on school” post.

***Lastly, last weekend we celebrated with Meg and threw her a shower. It was super fun and I GOT TO BAKE!!! Open-mouthed smile I didn’t have time to take pics while baking though. I guess I will have to bake again soon.

Reasons I am a "fake runner"

I coined the term myself. I am not hardcore like some are some reasons why. I am sure I will add to it.

1- I love running, but I would pick a treadmill run over an outside run more times than not. Most runners hate the treadmill and just about cry and do anything they can to avoid it. I don't. I love it.

2- Sleep is more important than a nice cool easy run. I knew I needed to get my run in today. I also knew my dad would be getting up around 7-8 to go for his run. I slept til 10:30. I left at noon for my run. Now it was a MUCH cooler day than normal, but it was still hot. I am sure the run would have been better had I gone at 7. But I love my sleep. The end.

I can't explain it

I want to try and make sense of it, but I can't.

Ever since last Thursday, I have felt at peace. It may have something to do with the army of people my mom has praying for me.

The thing is, while I miss what we had, I am excited for my future. I can't imagine being happier than I was, but I will be one day.

I am not focused on trying to figure out how to fix us. How to make him see we have to be together. Bottom line is we aren't meant to be together and somehow I have found away to be ok with that.

The causal texts about dumb things this week between us have done wonders for me. Just to feel like I have a friend again.

The thing that sucks is that people are going to try and say its too soon to be friends, or its weird. But I don't care. I feel different now. That part of our relationship has been packaged up and put on a little shelf in my mind. Never to be forgotten, but it is no longer of use. I hope soon he feels similar peace so that we can be friends. I also hope that our friends don't act weird because we are friends with each other.

He was my best friend for 5 years, that isn't going to go away, it is just changing the way it looks.

I am in  a good place. It makes me happy to say that. Even happier to know that I believe it.

Bet you didn't expect to see that!

I have been much better lately. More good days than bad.

Today I got a little crazy.

I signed up for a half marathon.

I need it in my life. I need the training. I need the focus.

My dad is going to run it too... How crazy awesome is that?!
